Through the International Education and Resource Network (iEARN) and the White House/U.S. Department of Education Friendship through Education Schools Outfitting Schools (SOS) project, Sunnyside Elementary School children initiated a journey in which they are providing school supplies for children in Afghanistan. With the project collaboration being facilitated by Afghans for Civil Society, understandings among children are being nurtured between schools in Afghanistan and schools in United States. It is a journey for learning the importance of critical essential academic, social, and compassionate community skills by making a difference in the world.
