Activities during the first year of the program included:

1) A curriculum development workshop at the iEARN Annual International Conference in Cape Town, South Africa, July 6-13, 2001. Participants brought local HIV/AIDS education materials to review and select for reproduction and distribution, and participated in the general iEARN Conference activities;

2) Engaging students in collaborative Internet-based projects in iEARN's unique health discussion forum.
