Welcome to “A Vision 2008: An Anthology of Creative Writings and Artworks”!
I am truly honored to share with you this literary anthology that reflects the students’ vision of the world through artworks, poetical sketches, prose, and poetry. This project serves as a gateway for the young writers in various parts of the world to bare their hearts, their souls, and their dreams.

I am overwhelmed with the participants’ creative ideas showcasing their writing and artistic talents that will certainly make the readers cry, smile, and ponder. These varied brilliant thoughts may just be the world’s longest monologues disguised in pretty coats that these young writers devised about themselves and about what they think, what they believe, and what they practice.

For this worthwhile endeavor, I would like to acknowledge the participating schools in various parts of the world for their article contributions. This year, I am truly grateful to still have the awesome artworks of the children from Belarus through the initiative of Miss Irina Volynets and the admirable pieces of writings from Cleveland, Ohio through the effort of Teddy Mwonyonyi.  Equally deserving of such gratitude are the project-forum participants who pave the way for significant discussions regarding their visions from the simplest to the most complicated topics that confirm our existence as a part of the human race. My heartfelt gratitude also to the student-facilitators/editors from the Makati Science High School in the City of Makati, Philippines, who through their skills, commitment and hard work made this publication via a website possible. Finally, I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to Ed Gragert and Lisa Jobson of iEARN-USA for their invaluable support.
This telecollaborative project is undertaken by participating in the International Education And Resource Network (iEARN) global telecommunication network. A copy of this anthology is available for downloading in pdf and in html versions.

This year has been a very busy yet fulfilling year for the A Vision 2008 Team from the Philippines because of the local and international events that they have taken part and they have successfully hurdled.  Noteworthy to mention was the team’s encounter with the notable delegates from various countries during the Asia Forum in Manila where indeed their littlest voices were heard and their participation was greatly appreciated. This anthology therefore serves as the team’s own little way of saying thank you for all the wonderful iEARN experiences and opportunities.

Have a great time reading!
