January 24 – 25, 2011

SchoolNet Uganda (iEARN-Uganda) will host a 2-day workshop for 150 educators from across Uganda as part of The World Starts With Me (WSWM), a Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) program implemented by SchoolNet Uganda in partnership with the Dutch World Population Foundation (WPF).

“The Gained Hope,” a documentary created by SchoolNet Uganda youth as part of iEARN's involvement in the Adobe Youth Voices Program, will be screened at the workshop.  The “Gained Hope” is a true story about and by Winnie Nansumba in which she exposes some of the challenges faced by children born with HIV using her personal story, advises the community what the young positives need from them, and ends with a message of hope to the young positives.  The documentary serves as a tool for youth and educators to use in their own HIV/AIDS campaigns, and demonstrates the value of youth media production as a way to motivate young people across the globe to bring out their voices on issues affecting them or that they are concerned about.
