Algeria
Algerian teachers
are participating in iEARN projects on an ongoing basis.
iEARN is working with the Ministry of Education to encourage
their full participation in iEARN projects. The
Algerian Ministry of Education as sent teachers
to iEARN regional and international conferences..
Bahrain
Schools throughout the country are involved in projects, some of which have included physical exchanges as well as online project work. Both primary and secondary schools are involved
in iEARN project
work. Several of these schools were part of the launch
of the "Friendship
Through Education" initiative.
Egypt
iEARN Egypt is an officially
registered NGO under the name of "Egyptian
Educational Resources Association (E-Era)". We serve almost
300 public and experimental schools in all over Egypt. Our partners
include the Ministry of Education in Egypt, RITSEC, Integrated
Care Society, and many others. iEARN Egypt hosted the First
iEARN BRIDGE Regional Conference in 2003 and hosted
the 2007 iEARN International Conference in Cairo.
Iran
iEARN
has worked with the Science
and Arts Foundation (SAF) in Tehran to link schools in
Iran.
SchoolNet
is the main project of SAF whose promise is to provide model
state Iranian schools with modern computer sites and access
to the Internet.
As part of iEARN-Iran,
teachers and students are actively engaged in collaborative
projects
and have brought large delegations of teachers to the iEARN International
Conferences in South Africa in 2001, Russia in 2002, and across
a range of workshops in Japan in 2003, Slovakia in 2004 and Senegal
in 2005. Students in Iran have teamed up with schools in Japan
and elsewhere in
solidarity with the survivors of the Bam earthquake to create
a Natural Disasters Relief Project with the capability to mobilize
students to assist in other disasters.
Iraq
Iraqi teachers and students have been involved since 2004, through
video-conference events in partnership with Global Nomads Group
and through online interaction. Schools are located In Baghdad,
Erbil and Basra. Teachers from these cities participated in training
workshops in Amman in 2004. iEARN is helping these schools establish
wireless broadband connectivity.
Israel
Israeli
teachers and students have been involved since 1990.
Both Arab and Jewish schools are involved in iEARN project work. This
has been in part through the work of the SOLAM
Program. A new independent iEARN-Israel
has been formed, which is the legally registered iEARN program
in Israel. It involves approximately 80 schools throughout the
country
Jordan
iEARN
has conducted a number of teacher training programs across Jordan
involving more than a dozen schools throughout the kingdom. Students
and teachers are actively involved in projet work. iEARN-Jordan
is working with UNRWA to involve Palestinian refugees in iEARN projects.
Jordan is particularly active in projects that promote cross-cultural
dialogue and civic education.
Kuwait
Schools in
Kuwait are involved in iEARN's Learning Circle projects.
Lebanon
iEARN-Lebanon
has trained
teachers at a number of schools public and private schools
in Beirut and surrounding communities. Students are actively
involved in project work. Recently iEARN-Lebanon
has joined a special project concerning civic responsibility
has been launched with assistance local and international parterners
to bring more schools on-line.
Morocco
iEARN-Morocco (MEARN) has
developed a a network of schools across the country. Building
links both locally
and internationally, iEARN-Morocco is active in the CIVICS and BRIDGE projects. iEARN-Morocco also works
closely with Africa SchoolNet. iEARN-Morocco organized the 2009 iEARN International Conference and Youth Summit in Ifrane.
Oman
Omani
teachers are participating in iEARN projects that promote
cross-cultural dialogue and civic education. iEARN-Oman is
working closely with
the Ministry of Education to train teachers in project-based
teaching methodologies. Students and teachers have participated
in historic exchange programs.
Palestine 
In
the late 1990s, iEARN worked with the Ministry
of Education of the Palestinian Authority to bring schools in
Gaza and West Bank on-line and into project work. In 2004, an
independent iEARN-Palestine was created, based in Ramallah. This
new teacher training center is working to expand Palestinian
student and teacher participation in international online project
work.
Qatar
iEARN-Qatar is facilitated by ROTA, a Qatari non-governmental organization founded in November 2005 under the auspices of the heir apparent, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and guided by Her Excellency Sheikha Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. ROTA's Vision and Mission: We envision a world in which all young people have access to the education they need in order to realize their full potential and shape the development of their communities. Together with partners, volunteers, and local communities, we work to ensure that people affected by crisis across Asia and around the world have continuous access to relevant and high-quality primary and secondary education.

dialogue and civic education. iEARN-Syria is working closely
with the Ministry of Education to train teachers in project-based
teaching
methodologies. Students and teachers have participated in historic

Yemen
Yemeni
teachers and students in Sana'a and Aden became involved in
iEARN
projects through a partnership with MEPI, the Education Development
Center (EDC), SOUL and the Ministry of Education. Teacher workshops
and
Arabic online courses have made this possible.
