/* Written 10:20 AM Oct 27, 1995 by coldspring in igc:iearn.tc */ To: Peg:sthildas From: coldspring@igc.apc.org Subject: millennia Dear Alexis, Hello, my name is Heather Bentley and I am co-editor here at TC. I am very impressed with what you wrote regarding the issue of the next millennia, especially regarding how human civilizations might cease to exist before the end of the next millennia. It's almost scary to think that what happened to the dinosaurs could happen to us. But whereas the dinosaurs disappeared through no fault of their own (supposedly a meteor detonated on the earth surface and covered the earth with dust, cinders, etc. that changed the climate and killed the dinosaurs), humans may self-destruct. Either the Green House Effect, ozone depletion, rainforest destruction, etc. may well ruin our earth to the "point of no return." Not a charming thought, but quite realistic! Well, your letter made me think, and I just wanted to let you know this. Want to talk more about this subject? Sincerely, Heather Bentley - grade 12
