My name is Nadia Khan and I am in the eleventh grade at Cold Spring Harbor High School. I agree with what you wrote about technology vs. human values. I think that there will be some individuals who use technology for negative reasons and others who will let computers rule their lives. However, I feel that many people will use their good judgement and won't take technology too far. Many things are becoming computerized and the in order to keep up with the trend, more and more advanced computers are being developed with more and more options for use. I think that some people will become wrapped up in their own little world and stay inside their homes using their computer as a constant source of entertainment. Virtual reality systems will allow people to go skiing from the warmth of their own home. On the other hand, I don't think everyone would enjoy this sort of thing. I personally feel that I would rather be outside and be active than sit in my house all day. One important thing that computers will be used for in the future is increased communication with other people around the world. We have some of this technology at the moment, but it will no doubt become far more advanced in the future and will prevent distances from coming between people. Nadia Khan Grade 11
