I think we got our wires crossed.  When I think of what lays ahead
for us, I see only the hope that We may have learnt from past
mistakes, and form a better future. I often prefer to think of the
glass as being half full, rather than half empty.   Think of the
advancements that have been made already, the mind boggles at what
is yet to be learnt.  When the people of the 1400's started dying
off with the Black Plague,1/3 of the 3 1/4 population. Now, that
was fine for when people thought washing was somthing you weren't
supposed to do, but nowadays, we are so much (I was about to say
smarter) more informed, and are able to, as you say, live longer.
I really have no solutions to the overpopulation theory, Perhaps
wider education on the effects of expanding the population, in
third world countries.  I can really only see education being the
answer. That, or start building space capsuals and living on the
moon... I don't think so.
