I really enjoyed reading your recent message to The Contemporary I would first like to congratulate you on keeping up with today's world news even though you were not able to attend college due to your disability. It was smart of you to think of the Internet as a way to reach out to people across the world. I also feel that it would be a great idea to provide instruction in Internet possibilities for people all people who are incapacitated, and maybe even for those incarcerated in jail. However, to make sure prisoners are using it for legal and practical causes, a security system should be set up. Maybe Internet use by prisoners could reduce the amount of spending on legal aid. Well, I can see that Internet use can help to life more interesting for incapacitated people. Also, since no college can accommodate your disability, perhaps you could get a degree through corresponding courses and video taped courses. You can even take tests on the computer and can receive instant feed back on grades. Is there an "Internet College" underway somewhere? With your talent for writing, I think you could specialize in creative writing and perhaps begin to publish your own work, maybe you will be able to write a best seller and become very famous. This would make you a role model for other disabled people. I hope your article in the upcoming issue of TC will reach many people and inspire them as it has me. Thank You, Ashley Austin grade 8 p.s. I have just joined the staff of TC, and this is my very first e-mail message. Please write back!
