Teaching Technology: Preparing Us For The Future

Today most jobs require knowledge of technology. Schools must teach these
skills in order to help students get the jobs they will want in the future.
At ACES High School we have computers that all students are encouraged to use.
We don't have a technology class, but the teachers incorporate the use of
computers with daily work. Most of the kids have been on the internet, and
everyone knows the basic skills.
I think it's a great thing that schools have the most up to date technology
because some kids can't get exposed to those things at home and won't learn how
to use them anywhere else. I have learned many things about computers that I
know I'll use in the future. I have computers at home, but my parents are too
busy to learn the things they don't already know or to teach me the things they
do.

We have a program called WOIS that lists job descriptions and outlooks. Many
students use it to decide their careers. I still am not sure what I would like
to do, but it's comforting to know that WOIS is waiting there to help me.
By the time I graduate, I will have learned more technology skills than my
parents. Thank you ACES for providing me with these options
