subject: Students: Knowledge of World

Working with The Contemporary I have become more open to
things that happen on an international scale. It was not the
first time when we received information from Israel about the
Hamas bombings before the details were clear to the American
public through the media. Whenever negotiations between
Palestine and Israel become strained we receive messages with
deep emotions displayed. Television allows people to see all
of the gruesome horror. But, nothing really compares to
getting a message from someone you have corresponded with in
the past about things happening right down the street. You
find yourself often becoming much more emotionally involved
and interested in things that are happening when you have a
real contact.
