Greetings from the students of Puerto Rico to everyone reading this conference: We are 6, 7, and 8 grade students participating in the ³English through Cooperative Learning and Interactive Technology² Title I Proposal. This proposal is coordinated by the "From Shore to Shore" Networking Project [De Orilla a Orilla] of the University of Puerto Rico. ORILLAS is I*EARN¹s newest center. Below you will find some of our thoughts on technology and publishing. We are writing to you in our second language, English. ** How can student journalism or a school publication enhance on-line project work and what advice do you have for a class wanting to publish? ** It improves my vocabulary, writing process and spelling. Take advantage of privilege to be able to publish. Publication can explain many projects with its objectves. If my class wants to publish I will give them an advice, such as, put their opinion of the project, make an evaluation and send it to the President. Since our project is beginning, I think we can first organize a group of students that is interested in publishing a school newspaper about our project and sister class. You can publish and give advice about problems in the family and problems in school and share with others around the world. Advice: Contact a person who work in publication and could explain and teach us how it work and how to help us make it a reality. Advice: Maintain which is your audience in mind. From the students at : Escuela Adelaida Vega in Vega Alta, Escuela Tallaboa Alta in Penuelas, and other schools participating in the ³English through Cooperative Learning and Interactive Technology² Project.
