Moscow School #689, Russia And Their Teacher, Natalia Uglava
In the Holocaust/Genocide Project, we discuss racism. We know, that in our world, there are many races and nationalities, and there are many conflicts between them. I think that it is very silly to hate people only because they have another color of skin. I think that it is a very global problem and it is very good that students can exchange their opinions with people from other countries. We must say thanks to people who developed this project. To my mind, this is one of the chances to protect the world from genocide. Tania Kornishina, 15 Years Old
For about two years our group has been working in the Holocaust/Genocide Project. This project is connected to genocide, to World War Two, to problems that are actual in our days. Our work is very big. We write letters to different conferences. We, with our teacher, went to some meetings that were devoted to heroes of Holocaust. For example, the last meeting was connected to members of people, who defended Israel and were killed. It was very interesting conference, because we knew more information about that. All the information that we get we try to give to other people, too. We also read different newspapers and special journals. Some of our articles were published in one of the journals. We try not only to work in that project, but to involve different students to such kind of work. For example there was a delegation from Kergistan in our school. We told them about our work and I suppose that they interested in it. As for me, I think that it is important to us, because all of us got more information from that project; it is like a hobby to us. We hope to have more possibilities to work again in the Holocaust/Genocide Project. Nastia Zhilina and Vica Popkova
I began to work at the Holocaust project not long ago, but I am already got three letters. Early, I did not know about this project, but now I work with a great enthusiasm, and I understand all the importance of this work. It seems to me that this work can help people to be friendlier with each other. Also it is very important to children, because by discussing those problems as racism and discrimination, they can express their points of view for these problems. I think that it is very silly from the sides of the government not to pay attention to ideas of young people because they are the next generation and only they can change our life in the future. So the work in the Holocaust project not only important, but also very interesting. Spiridonova Uliana, 14 Years Old
