Alaa Abd Elrahman Obeida, iEARN-Egypt alum

Alaa Abd Elrahman Obeida is currently a final year medical student at Kasr Al-Ainy School of Medicine, Cairo University, Egypt. Alaa is the founder and coordinator of EYouth Initiative funded by U.S. State Department Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund through an international competition. Alaa is also the executive director of MediVerse NGO and one of its founders as well. He is one of the members of the Egyptian State Alumni Advisory Council in US Embassy, Egypt. He was the Local Youth Representative (LYR) for iEARN Egypt 2011 and worked for iEARN since 2004. He is still helping iEARN Egypt by being in the advisory council of iEARN Egypt Students Board. iEARN Egypt was the real start of every change happened in his life so far, he is so THANKFUL for this. Mr. Obeida has been the head of NEW HORIZONS Organizing Committee and one of the founders of the Wa3yak Mosta2balak Club.

Mr Obeida was featured as one of the 3 main speakers in the Batalden Symposium 2012 in Minnesota, USA. He was also a TEDx Damnhour Speaker in 2013. He was a virtual speaker in the Nobel Prize Peace Forum in 2013 that takes place in Minnesota, USA. He has been a speaker and coordinator of many youth activities in Egypt. Mr. Obeida participated in the U.S. State Department Study of the United States Institute (SUSI) program at Temple University, Philadelphia PA in 2010; studying religious pluralism. He was the head of the Egyptian delegation to iEARN International Youth Summit in Taiwan, July 2011.
