The opening ceremony means a lot to me, because I like the torch when it was lit. The best part about the opening ceremony was the fire works on TV and also the big puppets on stilts. When someone wins a medal they stand on big blocks and bend over and a
man puts the medal around their head. I would like to be part of that too.

The Olympics mean quite a deal to me. They mean striving for gold and bringing countries together to compete. It's not who wins the most medals, it's who tries their best to compete in encouragement and friendship. There's no one who doesn't feel proud o
r nervous leading their country, taking the oath and carrying the Olympic spirit. All Olympic tokens represent the one and only Olympic torch. The Olympics are a sport that every country would be proud of competing in.

The Olympic's five linked rings on the flag symbolise the five continents in the Olympics, coming together into one big continent. When our country wins a medal or not, I'm still proud for them, because of all the hard work the athletes put in for it. I
think the athletes are very special to me, because of what they do and how they do it. It means to me that our country is able to hope for whatever they get. I'm proud for my country and so are the others in my grade. I really like Izzy.

We had a great ceremony with all of the teams coming out of the big red doors. There were different countries like South Africa, Canada, Russia and China. Everybody had a country name tag. Two people said an Oath. The QUEEN came to visit us but it was re
ally Mr. He had lipstick and earrings on he looked real funny. We had games like the human wheelbarrow race, the medicine ball relay, the go slow cycling race, the sack race and the backwards basketball race and there were lots more activities. Some peop
le got given medals.

On Monday July the 29th we had a Mini Olympics, to celebrate the Olympics in Atlanta. We had seven countries. They were Russia, Canada, China, USA, South Africa, Germany and England. We had an Opening Ceremony. Rebecca Langerak and Kris Bruton had to say
the Olympic Oath. At the end we were awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze medals. The games were Frisbee Discus, Skipping Relay, Medicine Ball Relay, Soccer Ball Dribble, Hockey Dribble, Human Wheelbarrow Race, Feather Duster Javelin and lots more. IT WAS FUN!
