Millennium
Minds Conference: 29th September - 1 October 1999 in Cape Town, Western
Cape, South Africa. http://www.wcape.school.za/conf99
Why was it called "Millennium Minds"? Although people often think
of the Internet as entertainment, an electronic library, or an online
textbook, the possibilities go far beyond this. The Internet introduces
exciting new ways of learning, teaching and thinking that are in line
with national changes to "resource-based learning" through Outcomes-Based
Education and Curriculum 2005. The traditional "three Rs" in education
are changing to the "three Xs" - eXploration, eXpression and eXchange.
The conference aims to change the way people think about education,
introducing new mindsets and approaches for the new millennium.
