2. REGISTER
NOW FOR THE NEXT SESSION OF iEARN ONLINE COURSES (Starting October
15th, 2007) An iEARN 9-week online course will help you integrate
international collaborative project-based learning into your classroom
and fulfill your curriculum standards. This is a great chance to
become an active member of the global learning community and learn

Global Connections Exchange Program (U.S. Department of State,
Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs) Scholarship opportunity
available for Secondary School Teachers from: Azerbaijan, Bahrain,

3. BULLYING
AWARENESS WEEK. As a supplemental resource for the (anti) Bullying
Project Bill Belsey, iEARN-Canada Coordinator,
launches website for the annual Bullying Awareness Week. The theme
this year is -- Stand Up! -- (to bullying) with a particular focus
on the role of the bystander, as it is the silence of the majority
that gives people who bully their power. For more information,

4. MY
CITY NOW AND THEN. Developed by an educator in Bethlehem, this new project
idea focuses on a comparison of cities around the world. Students
read, research and gather historical, religious and social information
about their city. Contact Shiraz Subeh in Bethlehem.
Discussions will take place in the Local
History Forum.
5. MEMBERS
OF FEEDING MINDS, FIGHTING HUNGER CREATE COLLABORATIVE POEM. Written
as a voice against Hunger and Poverty before the World Hunger
Day. The poem is available on the iEARN
Youth Website.

6. NEW
-- BOX OF MY LIFE -- PROJECT IDEA. Teachers in Brazil
invite students to select three meaningful objects related to
things in their lives till that present moment. Students should
prepare their objects and put them in a box called The Box of
My Life. They should write a paragraph explaining the importance
of each object in their lives, and make a speech about the reasons

7. WOMEN IN MY COUNTRY PROJECT. Join students and
teachers from Iran, Pakistan, and the USA currently discussing the

WEBSITE - BE THE CHANGE: UPSTANDER FOR HUMAN RIGHTS WEBSITE LAUNCHES
OCTOBER 7, 2007. Explore "Facing History and Ourselves"
newest interactive website, Be the Change: Upstanders for Human Rights.

The website profiles the stories of five extraordinary men and
women who have made a positive difference in the world. Created
with the help of student interviewers, "Be
the Change" looks at the influences, inspirations and motivations
that led 5 upstanders to take action on behalf of others.
9. GHETTO
FIGHTERS MUSEUM JOINS iEARN-ISRAEL. The Overseas Department
of the Ghetto Fighters House Education Division offers a variety

10. 2007
ARCHIVE INSTITUTE POSTER COMPETITION. The 2007 ARCHIVE Institute Poster
Competition encourages artists under the age of 18 from around
the world to design and submit a poster that responds to the widespread
AIDS epidemic and its influence on our lives. We expect submissions
as diverse as the impact of the virus on individual and community
lives. Registration deadline is November 1, 2007.

11. INTERNATIONAL
CHAIN OF AWARENESS CONFERENCE IN TURKEY, MARCH 14-16, 2008. The
conference will be about Millenium Development Goals of United
Nations. Students will present their projects that they have done,
and then will create a global action plan together. For more information,

12. YOUTHCAN
2008. Event scheduled for April 7, 2008 at the American

DISASTER YOUTH SUMMIT 2008. This year's theme:
