8. PULSE OF iEARN UPDATE -- OVER 31,000 EDUCATORS IN SEARCHABLE PARTNER DATABASE IN iEARN's COLLABORATION CENTRE. Several new features have been added to the iEARN Collaboration Centre (http://media.iearn.org).
Forums [http://media.iearn.org/forums]: By clicking on a name in the iEARN forums, a participant can see if the message was posted by an Educator or Student. Student email addresses are not displayed on the forums. Beside each student name is the educator who registered them, with a link to that educator's email address. Clicking on the student's name displays recent and all that student's messages posted in the forums.
People [http://media.iearn.org/people]: Educators can now search for other educators by "subject area" to find potential project partners, as well as by "position" so that teachers can find other teachers and principals can find other principals. Please be sure to update your profile in the Manage Account section so that others can find you by the subject area you teach and by the position you hold. Have you uploaded a photo and placed yourself on the iEARN Google map?
Gallery [http://media.iearn.org/gallery]: Educators are now able to make any piece of media that they or their own students upload into the Gallery "Public" to anyone on the web. Media marked "Public" does not require a login to be viewed, so it's a great way to share student work with communities outside of iEARN. Educators can mark media public when originally uploaded, or they can go to a piece of media they or their students posted and see an "Edit" link.
