1. NEW PROJECT PROPOSAL: BUSINESS VOICETHREAD PROJECT EXCHANGE. Are your students interested in local and international business issues? Are they familiar with the World Financial Crisis? Is it affecting their country and communities? If the answer is yes, then this project could be a great idea for you! We have just started working on a project on how young people perceive local and international business issues. 2. FIRST SCHOOL IN PAPUA NEW GUINEA JOINS iEARN! Hi everyone, my name is Bertha Ngahan. I teach at Madang International School which caters for 250 students in Madang, a small province in Papua New Guinea (PNG). PNG can be found north of Australia. It's made up of over 800 different cultures.I teach Language for Grade's 6-8 and Business Studies for Grade's 7&8. I would like to collaborate with anyone who is doing any project on the preservation and conservation of the cultural and biological diversity of their country and anything along that line. 3. iQUOTE PROJECT TEAM INVITES PARTICIPATION! Join us in the iQUOTE Project. iQUOTE is a team project whose main purpose is to create a platform where students can share various quotations of well known philosophers. Students get to discuss their views and opinions about different quotations. Moreover, students can take a particular philosopher and discuss his/her biography. 4. YOUTH SCIENTISTS IN THE COSMOS. Schools in Europe and Asia are invited to participate in this project which is connected with the IYA2009 (International Year of Astronomy 2009). 6. NEW PROJECT PROPOSAL: CHICKS, BUTTERFILES AND TADPOLES, OH MY! In this project, students will be introduced to the hatching of chicks, or development of butterflies or tadpoles. 8. NEW PROJECT - HARMONY FOR HUMANITY. Music classrooms around the world share music and culture through regular video exchanges. Facilitated by Rebecca Ivory in the USA. Connect to the project forum via: http://media.iearn.org/projects/h4h

9. KINDRED PROJECT INVOLVES STUDENTS IN RESEARCH IN THEIR LOCAL COMMUNITY. Students identify people that they could interview about an event that has occurred in their local community or on a national or world scale. After the interview they should describe the context of the event in terms that will enlighten a world audience. The students learn about the person that they interview and get first hand accounts of how the event affected their life. Stories may involve events such as natural disasters (earthquake, bushfire, tsunami, floods), wars, nuclear explosions, migration. 10. EDUCATOR IN SPAIN SEEKING PROJECT PARTNERS. The exchange would be in French or Spanish and focus on everyday life of high school students, with the goal of creating Powerpoint or video presentations. Contact Julio Gonzalez in Spain.

11. DOORS TO DIPLOMACY CONTEST. The U.S. Department of State and Global SchoolNet announce the 2009 "Doors to Diplomacy" competition. This educational award program recognizes student-created web projects that best teach others about the importance of international affairs and diplomacy. Projects due March 15, 2009. Paul Rusesabagina, real-life hero of "Hotel Rwanda" and Marvel Comics creator Stan Lee are two of the finalist judges for the competition. 14. iEARN-USA TO HOST EDUCATOR WORKSHOP AT ASCD (ASSOCIATION FOR SUPERVISION AND CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT) CONFERENCE IN ORLANDO, FLORIDA, USA ON MARCH 13, 2009. The purpose of the workshop is to get students in the US communicating with students in Iraq through iEARN project work. The workshop is free and lunch will be provided.
