1. WANT TO INCLUDE A PROJECT IN THE 2009-2010 iEARN PROJECT BOOK? Before starting a new iEARN project, all educators and youth are encouraged to participate in an existing iEARN project. If you've participated in iEARN projects already, and would like to to start a new project on a topic that is not already focused on by an existing iEARN project, please first post your project idea to the iEARN Teachers Forum, or if you are a youth, to the iEARN Youth Forum. If you find a team interested in collaborating with you, you are welcome to fill out an iEARN Project Template.

2. FOLK TALES PROJECT. Read recent stories from students in Egypt, China, Japan, Tajikistan, Morocco, Pakistan, Oman, the United States, UAE, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Russia, Liberia, Lebanon, Uzbekistan, Qatar, Ghana, Georgia, Turkey, Kenya, Bahrain, Indonesia, Tunisia, Senegal, Mexico, and Taiwan! 3. NEW FACILITATORS OF GLOBAL ART PROJECT. Join an ongoing project in which students create and exchange artwork and writing on "a sense of caring." 4. CLASS IN BRAZIL SEEKING PARTNERS FOR DIGITAL MEDIA PROJECT. My name is Giselle Santos, I am from Brazil and I am seeking schools/classes to join me and my school in an e-twinning project where we would create digital projects to work together.

5. A VISION GLOBAL CREATIVE WRITING ANTHOLOGY. A global literary magazine that teaches tolerance and mutual understanding. Contribute, and read and respond to recent works from Oman, Pakistan, Mexico, Morocco, Syria, the Philippines, India, the USA, China, and Romania. Facilitated by a team in the Philippines. 10. CLASS IN USA RAISES FUNDS FOR NETS AS PART OF ERADICATION OF MALARIA PROJECT. The Dawson SLAM club has been very successful in our fund raising this year. Our recent coin drive raised more money this year than any other year we have done it. We raised $1,154 in just 2 weeks! Coupled with our other bake sales, smoothie sales, and jewelery sales, we raised $2,673. This money will soon go to buy mosquito nets for families in Botswana. Read more here. 11. iEARN-TAIWAN A PARTNER IN SECONDARY SCHOOLS EXCHANGE INTERNATIONAL PROGRAM IN TAIWAN. Starting this year, the Ministry of Education in Taiwan has initiated a new international approach to secondary school education. The program is called SSEI (Secondary Schools Exchange International). 13. JOIN THE ENO TREE PLANTING DAY, MAY 22, 2009. Schools will plant trees on May 22, the International Day for Biological Diversity. Theme for this year is invasive alien species (IAS) - one of the greatest threats to biodiversity, and to the ecological and economic well-being of society and the planet. As we plant trees we will lay focus on indigenous trees. Exotic trees are not to be planted. In addition to planting, you are welcome to perform our special play for the occasion, sing our tree planting songs, dance and celebrate. ENO Tree Planting Day lasts 24 hours. Trees will be planted at noon, in every corner of the world, starting from Tonga Islands and Oceania. Following the Sun, new trees will be put to earth in Asia, Europe and Africa. Finally this chain of trees will reach Americas. Register by 15th of May 2009. After the event you are welcome to submit your event news on the web. 14. iEARN-LIBERIA IN COLLABORATION WITH THE LIBERIA GLOBAL TEENAGER PROJECT TO HOST FIRST iEARN BEGINNER WORKSHOP IN MONROVIA, LIBERIA, MAY 15-16, 2009. The 2-day workshop will bring together 20 school teachers to help them to integrate Internet project-based learning into the curriculum they are teaching. Welcome them in the Teachers Forum

15. iEARN AND ADOBE YOUTH VOICES WORKSHOPS IN TURKEY, MAY 16-17, 2009. Please post a greeting in the Teachers Forum to welcome teachers from Turkey who will be attending workshops in Istanbul.

16. MATE (MOROCCAN TEACHERS OF ENGLISH) CONFERENCE IN AGADIR, MOROCCO, MAY 29-31, 2009. Welcome participants of the 5th National ICT (information and communication technology) Conference, to be held at Zerktouni Training Centre in Agadir. The theme of the conference is: ICT for communication and project work: focus on social software and web 2.0. There will be about 60 participants including tertiary level teachers, teacher trainers, inspectors, and upper and lower secondary school teachers. Say hello to the participants and welcome them to the conference!! Tell them how an ICT project-based approach has impacted your teaching !! Post a message in the Teachers Forum.

17. iEARN-MOROCCO (MEARN) TO HOST 16th ANNUAL iEARN CONFERENCE AND 13TH YOUTH SUMMIT IN IFRANE, MOROCCO, JULY 19-25, 2009. "Innovative Technologies and Cross Cultural Dialogue For Quality Education." Participants from over 30 countries are registered already, and the number is growing daily.
