Send news and/or images of I*EARN activities in your country or school to Aaron at interaction@us.iearn.org by May 1st, 2001. If you are planning to submit or would be interested in helping translate the newsletter into other languages, please let him know soon so that he can begin coordinating submissions.

GEMS in ChinaGEMS PROGRAM UPDATE. During February and March 2001, a number of Internet Learning Centers (ILCs) were installed in the GEMS countries. Teachers and students have been trained and GEMS schools' web sites are now underway. See http://www.iearn.org/gemsreport/ .

CREATING CROSSWORD PUZZLES IN ENGLISH. The aim of the project: To practice the vocabulary at a certain language level and to create a booklet usable in English teaching. People willing to participate in this project may obtain more information from WWW pages of Czech I*EARN http://www.iearn.cz/krizovky or they may write an e-mail to the coordinator of this project- Elena Tomanova.

LEWIN - AN ANTHOLOGY OF STUDENT WRITING. Would you like your students to contribute to Lewin 2001? Writing can be about any topic and in any format. Contributions can be sent to the conference, iearn.lewin or emailed to lewin@iearn.org.au. All contributing schools will receive copies of Lewin when it is published. The deadline for contributions is July 2001 We would love to have some writing from your students! Lewin lewin@iearn.org.au.

VALUE OF MONEY PROJECT. Started and moderated by a team of young people from India and Bulgaria in the age group 16 - 18 yrs. AFRICA CONNECTS/I*EARN CONFERENCE - REGISTER NOW! 8th Annual I*EARN Conference- Capetown, South Africa. - 8th July 2001 -14th July 2001. The conference will be hosted by the Western Cape Schools' Network and SchoolNet SA, in conjunction with their annual educational computing conference (July 10-13). Participation is open to all educators who are share an interest in enhanced learning through on-line project-based learning.
