US-CHINA YOUTH EXCHANGE PROGRAM UNDERWAY. Nine students and two teachers from Phoenix, Arizona, USA are currently spending three weeks in Chengdu, China. Students will attend classes at their partner school and initiate project work on river habitat issues facing their two communities. LEWIN. Would you like to contribute to Lewin 2001? You can see many of the stories and poetry we have already received at http://www.iearn.org.au/lewin. We would love to have more contributions. You can post them to iearn.lewin.

TEDDY BEAR PROJECT. Many Australian teachers are waiting for classes to be partners for the Teddy bear project. If you register I will match you with a class in another country. This is an ongoing project for students of all ages. It aims to foster tolerance and understanding as well as provide an excellent way to develop your students language skills and use of technology. Also available in Spanish and German. AFRICA CONNECTS/I*EARN CONFERENCE - REGISTER NOW! 8th Annual I*EARN Conference- Capetown, South Africa. - 8th July 2001 -14th July 2001. Contact info@ac.wcape.school.za or http://ac.wcape.school.za to register. Or, you can receive a registration form as an automated reply by writing to registration@us.iearn.org . The conference will be hosted by the Western Cape Schools' Network and SchoolNet SA, in conjunction with their annual educational computing conference (July 10-13). Participation is open to all educators who are share an interest in enhanced learning through on-line project-based learning. AFRICA CONNECTS is sponsored by MWeb and Microsoft SA. Call for Presentations/Workshops: Please register and submit workshop proposals on the conference web site at http://ac.wcape.school.za. Contact prog@ac.wcape.school.za if there are questions about the process for submitting workshop proposals. Selected Presenters will be notified as soon as possible, but no later than June 15.

--------> TOYS FOR AFRICA INITIATIVE. Those attending the conference are asked to bring a toy/toys to be donated to African orphans and hospitalised children, with assistance from the Capetown, Friends of the Children's Hospital group.
