AIDSWEB: Social Action For Education with Today's Youth

Students gain HIV/AIDS awareness with a moderated lesson plan developed by World Links: After Introductions and getting to know each other, students begin with a discussion of Basic Facts and the importance of HIV/AIDS in their school, community, country and the world. They then research the Challenges to HIV Prevention, asking, among others, community leaders, doctors and traditional healers their advice and opinions. Students then decide what their school can do about HIV/AIDS in its own community and design and implement a Social Action Plan. For more background information see: WWW page of project: http://www.iearn.org/aidsweb
