Sports Around the World

As a national pastime, sports are viewed and cheered on seasonally in many countries. Sports are a great way to learn about science, math, people, and their culture. By investigating how a sport is played, along with its use of particular gear, many physics and mathematical concepts can be learned. Sports memoribilia is often fun for kids to collect. In this project students are learning about the different national sports, players, teams, and gear, and researching their chosen sport. Students are invited to share writings, science displays, mathematical statistics, and artwork regarding their favorite sport. An exchange of real sports memorbilia will also be facilitated among classes.
