          Secondary School Partnership Program Between Belarus and USA


iEARN is conducting a Secondary School Exchange Program among two Belorussian schools and two U.S. Schools.  The funding for this program is provided by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the United States Department of State.  The program includes on-line collaboration among students and physical student and educator exchanges.  Students will actively participate in YouthCaN and the publication of an environmental student periodical, Planetary Notions.  Four schools are involved in 2001-2002:  The International Preparatory School, Cleveland, Ohio and Frederick Douglass Academy, New York Cityin the U.S.; School-Lyceum #1, Grodno, and Gymnasium #11, Minsk.

The goals of this program are:

Duration of the program is one school year (August 2000 - July 2001), however, this partnership is expected to have a long-lasting impact on students, educators and their communities.
