GCEP Teacher Online Course Begins

Last week, teachers from Thailand, Tajikistan, Pakistan, Ecuador and the United States began a 4 week online course as part of the Global Connections and Exchange Program (GCEP), funded by the U.S. State Department, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.

GCEP Journalism 2.0 focuses on developing journalism and media skills among youth in all five countries. The online course is designed to help teachers create a detailed plan for integrating youth media and journalism projects into their classrooms or after-school programs. During the four weeks, teachers will learn more about available resources for online journalism,  media, and collaboration while networking with their fellow educators around the world. After the teacher online course, students will participate in a reporter online certification course and then create and share news stories about local and global events on the  World Youth News website.
