2015 iEARN-Taiwan Winter Camp

From February 4-6, 2015, iEARN-Taiwan hosted its annual winter camp in Kaohsiung. The theme for this year is Youth Can Change the World.

75 participants, ages 12 to 18, took part along with iEARN teachers, iEARN-Taiwan youth volunteers, and NSLI-Y students from the USA. The VOYAGE project was integrated into the camp. During the 3 day camp, students worked together on diverse activities and fun team building games. They learned about the iEARN spirit and global collaboration from Mr. Peter Copen, Founder of iEARN, and Ed Gragert, Director of Global Campaign for Education-US, via video conference. In addition, social enterprises and NGOs in Taiwan joined to deliver speeches and conduct workshops, giving problem solving tasks for participants to discuss as they were members of the organization.

At the end of the winter camp, participants gave an oral presentation about their ideas to change the world. Through the camp, students were encouraged to care about the community and take action to make the world a better place.
