iEARN and ICFJ to host a Youth Journalism Webinar on World Press Freedom Day

iEARN and ICFJ (International Center for Journalists) will host an online discussion with youth journalists from around the world to mark World Press Freedom Day on May 3.  Students participating in the MEPI high school journalism project in Kuwait and Oman will join iEARN's World Youth News Reporters from Pakistan, Turkey, U.S., and India,, along with youth from other countries.

Mentors from ICFJ, PBS (Public Broadcasting Service) NewsHour Extra, and Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism will facilitate the two-hour discussion. They will address questions like what press freedom means for young journalists, and how young people can make a contribution toward independent journalism in their countries.  May 3, 11am - 1pm EST (15:00 - 17:00 GMT/UTC).
