What?

The Alumni Media Festival is a one-hour virtual event open to everyone in the iEARN and YES community. Join us to watch digital storytelling projects produced by YES alumni, learn more about YES communities around the world, and even meet the filmmakers.

When?

December 12, 2013 10:00-11:00 am New York City time (check World Meeting Planner for your local time - http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/meeting.html)

Where?

The Media Festival will take place on Adobe Connect.

As part of the 10th Anniversary year-long celebration, iEARN has facilitated three regional digital storytelling and social media workshops. Alumni of the YES program from their respective regions engaged in a 5 day, intensive training where they learned valuable storytelling, video production, interview and social media skills. In today's multimedia environment, activism and community service require a range of communication and media skills so the workshop explored time-tested storytelling techniques, and focused on creating accessible messages for both local and international audiences. Participants returned to their communities tasked with telling the story of a youth organized project making positive impacts in their home communities.

The alumni-created videos can be viewed on the YES YouTube channel as well as the Alumni Digital Journalism blog. Six of these projects have been selected for the Alumni Media Festival on December 12th. The event program can be downloaded HERE and viewed below. We hope to see you at the festival!
