Animated web series features the world’s first disabled cross-cultural superhero

NEW YORK, NY— April 24, 2012 –The Open Hands Initiative, in partnership with Liquid Comics and MTV Voices, announced today the newest rendition of the Silver Scorpion comic book character - an animated web series featuring the world’s first disabled cross-cultural superhero.

A number of iEARN programs around the world, including iEARN-Egypt/E-Era (read more about their involvement) and iEARN-USA, have teamed up with The Open Hands Initiative to promote the series and support teachers and students to connect and communicate about the issues raised in the series.

Silver Scorpion is the brainchild of a group of American and Syrian youth with disabilities who gathered in Damascus a little more than a year ago.
